There are both formal and informal support platforms for personnel who are looking to change, or have already changed, career paths.
IGO has an annual mentoring program which is a great avenue to engage a mentor for support in career guidance and change. For prospective career changers, another platform is the IGO Post Graduate Program - in this formal program, candidates can gain experience in areas of the business outside of their regular work area (by way of the rotations on offer in this program). This provides an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders, particularly in the business units or departments that you may be interested in.
From a more informal perspective - IGO remains the type of business where leaders and managers are not only approachable, but certainly interested in the development of our people – it could be as simple as asking a leader in the business for a coffee to discuss career change, whether that be opportunities to change, or support through the process of change.
